The Challenge
The mill was buying lubricants from a patchwork of local dealers with no consistency in viscosity grades, while machine frames needed repainting during the annual shutdown with a coating that could handle humid processing halls.
Our Solution
We standardized the mill on three viscosity grades of hydraulic and machine oil with scheduled monthly deliveries, and supplied an epoxy-based machinery paint system with primers for the shutdown repaint — including application guidance for their maintenance crew.
Results
- Procurement paperwork cut from 11 vendors to 1
- Bearing-related stoppages down 23% year over year
- Shutdown repaint completed on schedule with a uniform finish
